一張照片勝過前千言萬語
Cary and Vicky don't remember who took the picture. It must be right after the graduation ceremony because there were still many people around. One picture is worth a thousand words. This picture takes us back to the joyful celebration of our college graduation some 40 years ago at Taita. Thanks go to the photographer. He did an excellent job. The camera was positioned at the chest level. The picture was well composed with people and the scooter in the background nicely complementing the main focus. Looking back in time, this graduation picture had the significance of 一拍定江山.

Most likely the photographer worked for the studio, taking pictures of the graduates. The camera was a twin lens Yashica or Mamiya ( Rollei and Hasselblad were very rare in 1970 ). Its waist level viewfinder facilitated the chest level angle of the shot. Cropping the square format picture to a vertical format was done during the enlargement.
If you study the 1970 picture carefully, you'll see it was back focused. People behind them were sharper.
